Description
Slowly Rolling Camera is a project led by Dave Stapleton, pianist and founder of Edition Records, alongside Deri Roberts on electronics and sound design, Dionne Bennett on vocals and Elliot Galvin on drums.
The result is music that has distinct echoes of the invisible soundtracks of UK progressives Cinematic Orchestra and Portishead as well as the polychrome textures of maverick Scandinavian artists like Sigur Rós.
This particular 7 showcases Stapletons imaginative compositional and arranging skills, as he extends the original ensemble with a string section and horn parts, to great effect.
The release includes an incredible selection of British jazz talents, such as Mark Lockheart on saxophones and Jasper Hoiby on double bass.
