In view of the past increase of interest in rhythm & blues groups in Britain, an exceptionally good future is predicted for us by many people, Brian Jones wrote to the BBC in January 1963. His audition request was turned down, but theyd soon changed their mind, and between that autumn and the summer of 1965, the Stones recorded numerous radio sessions for the Beeb. This, the second of three volumes, captures them between April and July 1964, by which time they were second only to the Beatles in popularity. Containing some of the most vital British R&B ever recorded, its essential for serious Stones fans, and comes together with background notes and images.
