Released in 2020, The Slow Rush is Tame Impala’s fourth studio album and Kevin Parker’s most expansive and immersive work to date. Recorded between Los Angeles and Parker’s studio in his hometown of Fremantle, Australia, and produced, recorded and mixed entirely by Parker, it is a record preoccupied with time — its passage, its weight and the strange feeling of watching your life accelerate while standing still.
Lost in Yesterday, Is It True, Breathe Deeper and One More Year are among the highlights on an album that moves between lush psychedelic pop, electronic textures and moments of genuine emotional directness. The album cover, created in collaboration with photographer Neil Krug, captures the same sense of scale and surrender that runs through the music.
