Classic 1972 reggae album re-issued on 180 gram vinyl in its original 12 track Melodisc form and cover.
Theres hardly a man woman or child in Jamaica who doesnt know the voice of Prince Buster. So begins the notes on one of the biggest selling Jamaican music albums of all time, Prince Buster Fabulous Greatest Hits, issued on the UK FAB imprint in 1968, and indeed many times since.

Prince Buster, originally christened Cecil Bustamente Campbell, was born on May 24th 1938. One time boxer later to still be one of Reggae music biggest stars. Prince Buster was with Fab/Melodisc Records throughout the 60s and as Rocksteady transformed into reggae his work continued to appear only on that imprint, until finally the parent label he was signed to gave the ultimate accolade to the artist by starting the Prince Buster label jointly with him.

As the 70s rolled in Buster was producing some excellent work with new exciting artists like deejays Big Youth with Chi Chi Run, and It Mash Up from Dennis Alcapone, as well as with old hands like John Holt and organist Ansel Collins, plus his own melodic and instantly recognizable voice could be heard on a number of 45s and LPs some of which are collected on this very album. Ever the innovator he produced one of the first dub albums, The Message Dubwise, which has become something of a rootsmans dream to find an original in mint condition.

Half a century after his disc debut, Prince Buster is still The Voice Of The People and Sunspot Records is proud to introduce the first of hopefully many Prince Buster re-releases and with this the first Sister Big Stuff the legend that is Prince Buster will continue to live on.
