Description
On 15th October 1984, The Pogues released their debut album Red Roses For Me. To celebrate the 40th anniversary, well be releasing a special 1LP on recycled red vinyl.
After four decades, Red Roses For Me is still celebrated as a groundbreaking debut album from an unlikely group of supposed neer-do-wells from Londons Kings Cross in the convulsive aftermath of the re-election of the Thatcher government. The album mashes traditional songs and instrumentals about death and drink, love and London with those of frontman Shane MacGowans and all fuelled by the punk ethos.
