Description
Howlin Wolfs Memphis Days: The Definitive Collection, Vol. 1 collects some of his earliest recordings, as produced by Sam Phillips at his Memphis studio during several sessions in 1951 and 52. As soon as Phillips best known for discovering and recording Elvis Presley heard Howlin Wolf perform on KWEM radio, he arranged for Chester Burnett (1910 1976) a.k.a. Howlin Wolf to come to his studio and put down some tracks.
The 21 songs presented here show different aspects of Howlin Wolfs still developing material. As a bonus for true collectors, the LP includes both sides of the original acetate recording taken from his very first recording session: How Many More Years backed with Baby Ride With Me (Ridin In The Moonlight). Feast your ears with raw and dirty Blues from one of the most influential Blues musicians that ever walked the planet. You wont find any Howlin Wolf recordings more vital than the 21 songs captured on Memphis Days: The Definitive Collection, Vol. 1.
