Description
Lush celebrate 35 years of their debut compilation Gala, the record that introduced the band to the US and Japanese markets in 1990. Bringing together the early EPs Scar, Mad Love and Sweetness and Light alongside a Robin Guthrie mix of Scarlet and a cover of ABBAs Hey Hey Helen, the collection captures the groups formative rush of shoegaze and dream-pop brilliance. For the first time since its original release, Gala is back in print, newly remastered in 2025 by Kevin Vanbergen. This anniversary edition follows recent remasters of Spooky, Split and Lovelife, and comes in the wake of the Criterion Channels release of A Far From Home Movie, bassist Phil Kings candid Super8 tour film honouring drummer Chris Acland.
