Kiiōtō is the love-child of Lou Rhodes, Mercury-nominated singer/songwriter and founder member of Lamb, and multi-platinum songwriter and keyboardist Rohan Heath. Together, they have recorded an album that is both richly instinctive and inquisitive: drawing on the roads the pair have taken to reach this point, As Dust We Rise arrives infused with a transporting spirit of ongoing exploration and discovery. Written and partially recorded in Lou and Rohans home studios in London and Wiltshire, the songs were then taken to producer Simon Byrts studio. Contributors included Valerie Etienne of acid-jazz outfit Galliano. Byrts advocacy of analogue recording and vintage equipment proved instrumental to the records warm air and organic sound, nurtured lovingly into being with the help of guest musicians on live drums, strings, bass, guitar and horns: collaborative processes, say Lou and Rohan, that they intend to develop on their next album.
