Julianna Barwick is a composer, vocalist and producer who crafts ethereal, sometimes wordless soundscapes, all of which are built around multiple loops and layers of her angelic voice. Over the past decade, shes honed an intuitive approach to experimental music, focusing on her vocals and improvisation. Her upcoming album Healing is A Miracle sees the exciting addition of three talented collaborators: Jónsi (Sigur Rós), Nosaj Thing and Mary Lattimore, who gently nudge her sound outside of her organically-evolved realm. reimagining of Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, alongside Phillip Glass, Debbie Harry, Laurie Anderson and Pattie Smith. She was invited to play with Yoko Ono at MoMA and in Central Park. NA and

Barwick has garnered critical acclaim for each of her releases starting with 2011 debut the The Magic Place with reviews from Pitchfork (8.5 Best New Album), and an inclusion in Pitchforks 200 Best Albums of the 2010s. Nepenthe followed in 2013 and immediately received outstanding reviews across the board from the likes of Drowned In Sound (9/10), The Quietus, The New York Times. The song Nebula, from her third album Will premiered in 2016 on NPR and was Pick Of The Week on The Guardian. She recently teamed up with Microsoft and Sister Citya NYC hotel to create the first-ever interactive lobby score. Inspired by Brian Enos Ambient 1: Music for Airports, the result is an ever-changing score that is informed by its environment. She also teamed up with Doug Aitken on his nomadic art project, and created stunning performances in the Massachusett wilderness.
