Oasiss classic 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe will be reissued to mark its 20th anniversary this May.

A remastered version of the Manchester bands LP will be released on May 19 and will include rare and unreleased recordings. The reissue is the first in the new Chasing The Sun series from Big Brother Recordings, with Oasiss follow-up albums Whats The Story (Morning Glory)? and Be Here Now to also be reissued later this year.

The 20th anniversary edition of Definitely Maybe will be available as a 12 vinyl LP featuring all the bonus CD content as a free download, and a Deluxe Box Set which features the LP and the CDs.

Among the bonus content included in the reissue is a disc featuring the bands stand-alone single Whatever, unheard acoustic versions of the tracks Live Forever and Shakermaker recorded in Paris, an early demo of Half The World Away recorded in Noel Gallaghers Tokyo hotel room, a demo of the extremely rare song Strange Thing and a live recording of Sad Song show at Manchester Academy.

Following in the footsteps their idols The Beatles, Oasis became major stars in the mid-1990s. Taking the Fabs template as a model, they added a thick wall of Pete Townshend-influenced guitars and stood at the vanguard of the mid-90s Britpop movement, inspiring scores of imitators. While guitarist/songwriter/leader Noel Gallagher penned several instant-classic pop songs, the press zoomed in on the extra-musical high jinks and squabbles of he and his younger brother and Oasis lead singer, Liam. The constantly feuding brothers threatened to split countless times (usually after one of Liams public outbursts), but somehow they hung together and kept things going against the odds until 2009. The bands latter albumswritten in the midst of numerous line-up changeswhile not critically lauded have consistently sold in their millions.
