Following the cult success of the first two EPs and debut album Cinema 3000, Common Saints return with the highly anticipated EP, Equinox – a release that’s already generating excitement within the Common Saints community. The record blends the signature soul, funk, and psychedelic influences fans have come to love, but this time with a livelier tempo and renewed energy. Founded in 2020 by writer and producer Charlie J Perry, Common Saints embraces a hands-on, organic approach to music making. Charlie plays and records real instruments in his London home studio, often using just a single mic for the drums, his beloved piano, and cranked-up amps to capture a raw, authentic sound. Equinox is a masterclass in musicianship and analogue warmth – an old-school recording ethos fused with a modern edge. In his own words, Charlie sayas, “Equinox represents a meeting of the dark and the light – when the sun and the moon both appear in the sky. It’s a reflection of a period in my life that’s been both tragic and transformative – the loss of my father, and the birth of the Common Saints live show. This EP marks growth, transition, and a turning point for me – and, I hope, for anyone listening.”
