Cascades

Description

Citing influences such as Talk Talk & Fleetwood Mac, the duo create a range delicate synth soundscapes overlaid with multi-layered vocal harmonies wrapped up an indie pop sensibility. Lead track Cascades is one of the more upbeat and percussive tracks on the album resplendent with glistening guitars and shimmering synths, the band say of the track; Cascades is named after the mountain range in the American Northwest. Its about a feeling of elation, and the feeling you get when you take in the stature of a mountain range like the Cascades. Its also slightly nostalgic for the time we were on tour driving up from Salt Lake City into Oregon and into the Cascades themselves. Fog was covering the tops, it was very lush and green but cold. It was also a big moment for us in the writing process where we felt this tune was bigger than us almost. Songs on the new album range from the more melancholic and gentler Sun and London, After The Rain featuring warm intricate acoustic guitars to more upbeat pop-infused tracks like How Could You Know and Ocean To City.
