There is a distinct French flavour to the soundtrack of the recent Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively thriller A Simple Favor, with the Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot number Bonnie And Clyde played during one pivotal moment. The pair scored a hit with the track in 1968 and this album was rush-released on the back of it. While the LP has no theme linking it to the infamous US outlaws, it does feature popular songs such as Comic Strip, Everybody Loves My Baby and Bubble Gum. In 2013, Spin included it in their Top 100 Alternative Albums of the 1960s, saying: The whole thing shimmers with an extremely screwy vision of 60s France.
