The Complete Health and Happiness Recordings showcases music giant Hank Williams onstage, adding another dimension to our scant knowledge of him. The proceedings include performances of such timeless hits as Im So Lonesome I Could Cry, I Saw The Light, Lost Highway and Mind Your Own Business, plus mark the first recorded evidence of Hanks Nashville-era Drifting Cowboys.

The performances heard here were recorded on acetate discs (meant to be played only once or twice) that were shelved in 1951, and they gradually faded from common memory. In the 1970s the acetates were saved from the trash by an WSM employee and eventually given to Hanks daughter, Jett. On behalf of the estate, Jett fought an eight-year battle to establish ownership, finally winning the right to release these recordings in partnership with Time Life.

Produced by Grammy-Award winner Cheryl Pawelski, The Complete Health and Happiness Recordings are available on vinyl for the first time as a 49-track 3LP-set. The audio has been freshly transferred, restored and mastered from the original 16 transcription discs by Michael Graves. Also includes new liner notes from Colin Escott.
