Description

Far From The Madding Crowd is the story of independent, beautiful and headstrong Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan), who attracts three very different suitors: Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts), a sheep farmer, captivated by her fetching willfulness; Frank Troy (Tom Sturridge), a handsome and reckless Sergeant; and William Boldwood (Michael Sheen), a prosperous and mature bachelor. This timeless story of Bathshebas choices and passions explores the nature of relationships and love as well as the human ability to overcome hardships through resilience and perseverance.

The composer of the soundtrack, Craig Armstrong, is one of the most popular and in-demand composers/arrangers/ performers in the film and music industry. His emotionally charged, distinctive and eloquent style of music has graced films such as Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, Ray, Love Actually, Plunkett & Macleane, World Trade Center and Elizabeth: The Golden Age. For the biopic Ray, Armstrong was awarded a Grammy Award for Best Original Score in 2004.

In conjunction with his film scoring work, Craig Armstrong has also released several albums of original music notable collaborations include Madonna, Bono and Massive Attack to name a few.
