Description
Staged in Rotterdam, Holland, in 1970, the Kralingen Pop Festival was Europes answer to Woodstock and Monterey Pop, a festival celebrating music, good times, and the 60s countercultural vision of utopia. Many of the same bands that helped create the American scene appeared on the bill at Kralingen, including Santana, Jefferson Airplane, Country Joe, and the Byrds. But the appearance of T. Rex and Pink Floyd also represent Britains contribution to the party. STAMPING GROUND offers up a bevy of superb live performances from this often overlooked monster on the list of great hippie-era festivals.
