Recorded in New York City on November 20 and 22, 1961 in New York City, these recordings produced by John Hammond find a young Bob Dylan at the onset of his career alone on vocals, guitar, and harmonica. Comprised of largely traditional material like In My Time of Dyin, Man of Constant Sorrow, Baby, Let Me Follow You Down and the title track House of the Risin Sun along with Dylans homage to Woody Guthrie, Song To Woody.
