Description
Modern life is war: we are Wargasm. Three years ago this project began as a retaliation to the stagnant state of rock music around the world. A lot of synth and hip-hop has the same energy and elements as metal. Genre is dead and were living off of Energy. Wargasm was born in the right place and the right time to capture that feeling. This should be sexy and violent. Whatever people think, theyll think. We hope you find something from it, but we also dont care if you dont. All we can do is guide you here. We called our mixtape Explicit, because Rock & Roll lost its way and abandoned its taboos. Were here to add some new ones. Were here to do horny rock music, because no one else is. Were here to confuse you. Were here to prove everyone wrong. Were here to make you say, What the fuck?
A few years ago, they met and incorporated synthesizers into their bloodthirsty brand of metallic mayhem. The single Spit. ripped a hole through streaming services with over 3.7 million Spotify streams. Buzz increased as they dropped Rage All Over, Salma Hayek, and Scratchcard Feeling. NME named them among 100 Acts to Watch in 2021, and Alternative Press touted them on its New Bands To Watch cover in 2021. They took home Best UK Breakthrough at The Heavy Music Awards. Beyond gigs with Yungblud and Creeper, they left audiences stunned at Reading and Leeds Festival, Download Pilot Festival, Bloodstock, Louder Than Life and Riot Festival.
July 14, 2023 Dynamic London-based duo WARGASM return with a bang, unleashing a frenetic and fiery new single entitled Do It So Good and announce they will be releasing their debut album Venom on October 27th.
On the news of Venom & release of Do It So Good the band said:
For the last 16 months weve spent every moment off the road in the studio creating the perfect debut album for Wargasm. Heavy, melodic, disgusting, honest, sexy, everything this band has experimented with since our inception has been pinned down on the anvil and hammered into shape, thrown at the wall, beaten into a more fucked up shape and gone back onto the anvil.
We hope you enjoy Do It So Good as a taste of whats to come.
Venom is us. This is ours and before the year clocks out this will be yours.
Watch closely you have no idea whats gonna happen next x
Do It So Good hinges on pulsating synth loops ravaged by groans of distortion and pummeling beat-craft. It seesaws between iconic lyrics in each verse and shuddering screams as Milkie Way promises, Baby we came for blood. The devastatingly ecstatic Do It So Good spirals towards one final climactic crescendo, incinerating the boundaries between metal, alternative, and electronic.
After touring with Enter Shikari and Limp Bizkit at the end of last year (and into top of this year), Wargasm are set for another amazing run of dates leading into the rest of 2023. The tour makes stops at The Paramount in Huntington, NY on September 16th, and The Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA on October 5th. They will also be hitting festival stages at Louder Than Life Festival on September 22nd and Aftershock Festival on October 7th in Sacramento, CA before heading back to the UK where they will be performing at their largest headline shows to date including Shepherds Bush Empire on December 16th. Last year, they unleashed EXPLICIT: THE MIXXXTAPE. It piled up 10 million-plus streams, earned raves from the likes of PAPER Magazine, Loudwire (who hailed it as one of their Best New Debut Rock + Metal Albums of 2022) and Revolver Magazine who said Wargasm dont just have the nu-metal sound, they have the swagger. Not to mention they have previously been featured on the covers of Alternative Press and KERRANG! Plus, they took home the first-ever New Noise Award at the 2022 KERRANG! Awards.
