Description
British avant pop artist Alexander Tucker presents his second album for Thrill Jockey following Dorwytch in 2011.
A great, grand album. A keeper, as they say The Quietus
Kentish psych-head Tucker melds churning string arrangements with electronic drones and finger-picked guitar to underscore a procession of typically Stygian, Alan Moore-inspired psych-pop songs Mojo
The plucked notes of acoustic guitars circle around and around the pressing, surging pull of violins and cellos as Tuckers preternatural voice cants eerie messages about monsters and wistful memories of childhood Signal To Noise
Tucker will tour in support of Third Mouth making a rare trip to the US for shows in Fall 2012.
In addition to his solo work Tucker performs in the duo Imbogodom with New Zealand artist Daniel Beban. The duo have released two albums on Thrill Jockey.
His other bands include Grumbling Fur with members of Guapo and Circle, and past collaborative projects include duets with Stephen OMalley on his Ginnungagap side project and the larger Decomposed Orchestra.
Tucker is also a visual artist, creating artwork for all of his album covers and side projects, including ongoing paintings, drawings, and comic artwork. Third Mouths cover is a painting by Tucker.
LP version includes free download coupon with a first pressing of only 600 copies worldwide.
