Released in 2006, On An Island is David Gilmour’s third solo album and his most fully realised outside of Pink Floyd. Unhurried and deeply atmospheric, it carries the same expansive guitar work and emotional depth that defined his best work with the band — but in a more intimate, personal setting.
Featuring contributions from David Crosby, Graham Nash and Richard Wright, the album is a meditation on solitude, nature and time. Beautifully recorded and best heard at volume.
