Chicago free jazz drummer Charles Rumback has got together with folk-jazz behemoth Ryley Walker to make Little Common Twist. Unsurprisingly, to those who know Ryley Walker’s work, the album has drawn comparisons to Veedon Fleece-era Van Morrison and has a distinct ‘after hours’ sound. The album is an experiment in rhythm and sound with the drums and guitar avoiding their traditional expected roles. It was recorded between 2017 and 2018 with producer John Hughes.
