Hailing from the harbour city of Bristol, Empty Pools formed in the halcyon days of fading summer 2011. They artfully combine elements of noise rock with teen dream melodies, late ?70s CBGB?s angularity and the jazzy world-pop sophistication of the Thrill Jockey set. The band have shared stages with White Denim, Other Lives, Memoryhouse, Widowspeak and Gauntlet Hair and have upcoming dates at Crack Magazine?s Birthday Party and with Sharon Van Etten. The band have self-released two songs in 2012. ?Vanderbilt Cup?, in March, to favourable reviews from NME, Drowned in Sound and BBC 6Music, amongst others, and ?Exploded View? followed in June. They plan to record their debut album later this year.
