Description
Heyday, the fourth album from The Church, was released in November 1985. Produced once again by UK producer Peter Walsh, the album showcased lush instrumentation that included the addition of horns and strings, signifying a departure from the bands earlier post-punk sound towards a more warm, atmospheric, psychedelic style. It included the singles Already Yesterday, Tantalized, and Columbus, all of which played a significant role in boosting the bands international recognition at the time.
A beloved favourite among fans, credited to its dreamy soundscapes and profound lyrical content stemming from Steve Kilbeys introspective and often cryptic lyrics.
This was a key release in the development of the bands distinctive, dream-like sound that ended up defining them for many years to come.
Australian exclusive pressing (no UK release).
