Description
Classic tracks from the late 70s to the early 80s reinterpreted in a bossa nova / nu-jazz coffee table style. Nouvelle Vague takes in classics by bands such as the Clash, Joy Division, the Cure, Public Image LTD, Dead Kennedys, XTC, the Specials and turns them into something fresh. All the tracks keep simple fundamental chords, and work with young female vocalists (six French, one Brazilian and one New Yorker) who had never heard the original versions. This is wine bar subversion. Includes KCRW Session bonus tracks.
