Bad Companys Burnin Sky, released in March 1977, continued to showcase the bands bluesy rock roots, with Paul Rodgers soulful and powerful vocals leading the way. The albums musical style is characterized by its gritty, guitar-driven sound and blues-infused melodies.
The 12 songs were recorded in France at studio Château d Hérouville, where David Bowie would record Low later that same year. The albums hit single and title track Burnin Sky reached No. 78 on the U.S. Billboard pop singles chart. The album peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart.
